The Organization:
Headquartered in the state of Maryland, GAIBP is a non-profit organization of professionals in the life sciences Industry. The majority of GAIBP members are scientists, researchers, or entrepreneurs of Indian origin. Most of our members work in biotech and pharma industries, government agencies, universities and research institutes. The Board members, executive committee and advisory board volunteer to contribute their time and skills to further the mission of GAIBP.
The Mission:
GAIBP is committed to promoting science, technology, and business development in the life-science industry through information exchange, training, research and business collaboration. It is an active forum that brings scientists together and establishes connections between basic and applied research, between academia and industry, and between researchers and entrepreneurs. GAIBP is also committed to promoting industrial exchange and collaborations between the United States and India.
The Approach:
GAIBP achieves its mission through the following activities.
- Networking among bioscience professionals (academia, industry and government) in the United States and India.
- Creating professional development opportunities such as mentoring, training, seminars, workshops, symposia and career advice.
- Social support network for personal and professional help.
- Creating a platform for synergistic professional and social interactions between senior, mid-level and early-career professionals in biosciences.
- Encouraging entrepreneurship.
- Creating awareness about Indian biotech and pharmaceutical industry.
- Issuing white-papers and special interest reviews on diverse topics of interest.
Activities include:
- Annual conference/symposium.
- Workshops/seminars that cover diverse topics and themes from research strategies to entrepreneurship and business development.
